What It Is
IGF-1 LR3 (Long Arginine 3 Insulin-like Growth Factor-1) is a synthetic recombinant analog of human IGF-1 modified by replacing glutamic acid with arginine at position 3 and extending the N-terminus by 13 amino acids. This structural alteration dramatically lowers its affinity for IGF-binding proteins (IGFBPs), significantly extending its half-life in circulation compared to native IGF-1.
What It Is Commonly Used For
-
Hyperplasia & Myoblast Proliferation: Studied for its ability to stimulate satellite cell activation and myoblast proliferation, promoting new muscle fiber creation (hyperplasia).
-
Extended Receptor Activation: Evaluated for its prolonged biological activity due to non-binding with IGFBPs, resulting in sustained cellular signaling.
-
Nutrient Partitioning & Glucose Transport: Researched in metabolic models for increasing amino acid uptake, accelerating glycogen synthesis, and driving muscle cell tissue recovery.
General Purpose
To provide a long-acting IGF-1 analog reference compound for investigating cellular hyperplasia, myogenesis, nutrient transport pathways, and growth factor signaling mechanisms in laboratory research.
